The arrival of coaching legend Wayne Bennett is set to spark a major overhaul of the Newcastle Knights roster for 2012.

According to Australian magazine Rugby League Week, six under contract stars are being offered around the NRL and Super League – namely Cory Paterson, Isaac De Gois, Antonio Kaufusi, Zeb Taia, Con Mika and Matt Hilder.

Bennett, currently in charge at World Club Challenge winners St George, is on the move once again in the winter and is planning to build his own team as he looks to win an NRL premiership with a third different club.

Several other players, including fullback Shannon McDonnell, Cameron Ciraldo, Marvin Karawana, Wes Naiqama, Kevin Naiqama, Keith Lulia and Steve Southern are also in limbo, while veteran Adam MacDougall is expected to retire.
