Furner hits back at fans

Canberra coach David Furner has hit back at fans who are calling for his head.

The Raiders are rooted to the bottom of the NRL with just three wins from 11 games, leading to some supporters questioning his position.

But the former Wigan and Leeds forward, who played 200 games for the Raiders, told Australian magazine Rugby League Week: “I know who the real supporters are.

“The thing that’s been reported has been the nasty times. I can’t control that.

“The encouragement I’ve received, I’ve received a whole lot.”
