Crusaders forward Gil Dudson has joined Halifax on a dual-registration deal and is set to make his debut against Leigh tonight.

The 20-year-old is highly regarded by the Welsh club but has been unable to cement a regular first team sport this season.

“This is a big year for Gil so it is important that he gets as much game time as possible,” said Crusaders head coach Iestyn Harris.

“We’ve seen the benefits of gaining experience in the Championship with Elliot Kear since he came back from Hunslet and I’m hopeful this move will do the same for Gil.”

Dudson has been included in Halfiax’s squad for the clash with the in-form Centurions tonight and coach Matt Calland believes the player can have a big impact during his time with the club.

“Gil is a big unit with Super League experience and I am confident he will go very well while he is with us,” he told the Halifax Courier.

“It is a dual-reg deal which is good for us and for the player as hopefully we will be able to give him the game time he needs.”

Dudson spent much of last season with South Wales Scorpions and was named in the Co-operative Championship 1 All Star Team for 2010.
