Howell loses ban appeal

Harlequins RL player David Howell has lost his appeal against a 6 match ban imposed on him by the RFL Disciplinary Committee last week.

Howell was handed the 6 match ban, plus a £300 fine, after he was found guilty of committing a Grade E biting offence during Harlequins Engage Super League contest with Catalan Dragons on July 30.

Howell appeared before the committee again this evening to contest the severity of the suspension, but after taking all submissions into consideration, the committee deemed the original sanction of a 6 match ban appropriate.
