Halifax winger Lee Paterson has committed his future to the club by signing a new one-year deal.

Paterson helped Halifax to both the 2009 and 2010 Championship Grand Finals, and signs a new deal just hours after fellow back Paul White also signed on the dotted line.

Although Lee is currently injured and won’t feature again this season, new Fax coach Karl Harrison didn’t hesistate to re-sign the three-quater.

Club Director Ian Croad said “Karl looked at the squad and ear marked who he wanted to keep. Not surprisingly it was a quite long list, and rightly so, as this team is full of talent.

“Pato is a great team player and is a fantastic person to have around the Club. We were all gutted for him when he got his season ending injury, but hopefully it will allow him to come back in 2012 stronger than ever.

“He’s a great player and a scoring machine when given the kicking duties. By signing up Paul an Lee we’ve added a lot of points to the table already for next year.”

Commenting on the new deal, Lee said “It’s great to sign up so early, especially considering my season is already over. I was gutted when I found out I needed surgery, and unfortunately it’s a pretty long recovery.

“But I’m just focussed on next season and making sure I’ll be ready for a tough campaign. Karl coming on board will have everyone looking to impress, and I’m going to be one of them.”
