Ins and outs continue at Halifax
Bob Beswick is set to sign for Wakefield after heading a list of 11 players released by new Halifax boss Karl Harrison.
The Ireland international has been with the club for three years, helping them to Championship glory in 2010.
Also on the list is popular scrum half Ben Black, who has signed for Harrison’s old club Batley on a one-year deal.
Forwards Paul Smith, David Larder, Michael Ostick, Neil Cherryholme and Ryan Clayton will also leave The Shay, alongside centres Dylan Nash and Jon Goddard.
Former St Helens full-back Miles Greenwood and scrum-half Danny Jones complete the list, with Jones likely to return to Keighley, who he left following the Cougars relegation at the end of 2010.
Halifax have been busy in the transfer market since their season was ended by Sheffield in the Championship play-offs, swooping for half-backs Anthony Thackeray and Paul Handforth, Widnes centre Stephen Tyrer and back-rower Iain Morrison from Featherstone, amongst others.
