Ferres and Jackson return for Cas

Castleford pair Brett Ferres and Paul Jackson will make their returns from injury in Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Wakefield.

Ferres, 25, picked up a shoulder injury in the dramatic Challenge Cup semi-final defeat against Leeds in August and after successful surgery, will line-up from the start against former club Wakefield.

Jackson, 33, missed the end of last season with a back injury, and has also had surgery on a hand injury during the close season.

Both players will be looking to secure a first term berth under new coach Ian Millward, and will be given their first chance to impress in action at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Sunday (3.30pm kick-off).
