Andy Last relieved to see Hull keep season alive with victory over Huddersfield
A late goal from Marc Sneyd enabled Hull to keep their season alive as they completed the double over Huddersfield with an 18-16 victory at Warrington.
“The first 40 minutes were high quality, both teams completed at a high rate and the boys at half time spoke about how quick the game was.
“Over the course of 80 minutes there were some good bits and some we need to get better at.
“It keeps the season alive, we spoke about that, we want to try and win every game.”
Last singled out for particular praise loose forward Joe Cator, who was one of a handful of players returning to the team following the defeat by Leeds.
“Joe worked his blood to water,” Last said. “The modern-day game suits him down to the ground. He’s not the biggest middle but he’s one of the fittest and his enthusiasm is infectious.
“We’ve got to keep him on the ground and manage him the right way because he does expend a lot of energy.
“I thought the team worked really hard, there was a collective effort and a collective spirit.
“There’s a real good feel in the changing room. I feel they all contributed and we need to do it again on Sunday.”
