Challenge Cup continues this weekend
Thirty eight Rugby League teams will belatedly step out on the road that leads to Wembley this weekend when 19 weather-delayed Carnegie Challenge Cup preliminary round ties are scheduled to be played.
Only Leeds Metropolitan University were able to beat the big freeze last week, when they defeated Ovenden 15-14, and 19 grassroots teams are hoping to join them in the first round proper over the weekend of February 18 and 19
Rugby League’s oldest and most prestigious knockout competition continues to be a major draw and the RFL is already experiencing strong demand for tickets for the 2012 Carnegie Challenge Cup final at Wembley Saturday August 25.
Community Rugby League clubs that do not manage to play their way on to the famous hallowed turf can still take advantage of some spectacular cashback offers instead by booking a group deal through the RFL.
Purchase either a £26 ticket and receive £10 cashback per ticket sold or a £41 ticket with a free upgrade to a £51 ticket, also with £10 cashback.
Clubs that are interested in organising a trip to the event are encouraged to contact the RFL’s Business Development team – bev.coleman@rfl.uk.com or ray.tennant@rfl.uk.com for information about how they can get cashback for a group deal.
