Fractured hand for Moon
The early season injury woe for Salford continued on Friday, as centre Joel Moon suffered a fractured hand in the defeat at St Helens.
Moon, 23, was a close season recruit from New Zealand Warriors, and had worked hard in pre-season to recover from a broken ankle, sustained at the back end of the NRL campaign.
He is expected to be out for at least a month, and will see a specialist on Monday.
Already missing Wayne Godwin with a rib injury, coach Phil Veivers saw back-up hooker Stuart Howarth suffer a broken nose and damaged finger in the 38-10 defeat.
Moon made his NRL debut for Brisbane back in 2006, and made 82 appearances in the NRL, scoring 25 tries, before opting to switch to Super League with the City Reds.
