Anasta rues Roosters lapses
Roosters skipper Braith Anasta says lapses in concentration were to blame for their 30-12 hammering at home to Canterbury.
The Tricolours trailed just 14-12 at the break having led for the majority of the half, but conceded 18 unanswered points in the second period.
“That try they scored on half time was pivotal for us,” Anasta told the club website.
“Whilst the injury to Peni was unfortunate, it was a bit of a downer going in at half time behind after we were the better side for most of it.
“The last ten minutes in the first half and the first ten in the second half really cost us in the end, you can’t afford to have lapses in concentration like that.”
Anasta also thinks the Roosters aren’t benefitting from many close calls from the officials.
“It seems to happen to us a lot, and at 14-12 that takes a lot of momentum out of your sails,” he added.
“But next week is another week, we’ve got the bye which will help after a few very physical games in-a-row. We’ll rest up and begin to focus on putting in our best performance against the Broncos in a fortnight.”
