Manu Vatuvei sidelined through knee injury
Try-scoring record holder Manu Vatuvei is to have surgery on his injured left knee forcing him to miss the Vodafone Warriors next three NRL games.
The winger suffered the set back in the 30-16 win over Penrith where he contributed two tries to the game.
It was hoped that the 26-year-old would recover after treatment but the team doctor, John Mayhew today confirmed the Kiwi needs an operation.
He said, “Vatuvei had meniscal tears to the medial and lateral ligaments in his left knee. He has been booked in for the surgery tomorrow and is expected to be out for three to four weeks.”
Vatuvei was a member of the New Zealand Rugby League World Cup winning team in 2008.
