Nathan Brown could make Saints switch early
Nathan Brown is likely to meet with St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus to discuss whether he will move to Langtree Park earlier than expected.
Brown left Huddersfield yesterday following a run of eight defeats in nine games, since it was announced that he would take the top job at Saints in 2013.
Mike Rush is currently in charge, and has helped Saints climb from ninth in the table since the sacking of Royce Simmons earlier in the season, and he is unsure what the immediate future might bring.
Rush told the BBC: “It’s for the chairman to decide. Until then, the season carries on. There’s a Grand Final on 6 October and we work towards getting into that.
“He needs a long chat with Nathan because Nathan might want a couple of weeks to rest. I’m sure it’s a very hard and emotional time leaving somewhere.
“Eamonn and Nathan need to get their heads together and then no doubt they’ll tell me.”
Brown’s last game in charge of the Giants was Sunday’s Challenge Cup semi-final defeat to Warrington. They were top of Super League when his move to St Helens was announced.
