Former London Broncos head coach Rob Powell has left the club.

Powell, 32, was relieved of his duties last month following a disappointing season that saw the Broncos languishing at the foot of the Super League table.

He had been expected to stay on at the club in another role, but will now be actively seeking another role in Super League or the Championships.

A club statement said: “London Broncos Rugby League have agreed to allow Rob Powell to leave the club by mutual consent. We wish Rob every success for the future.”

After taking over in November 2010, Powell managed just 12 wins in 52 games in charge of the the club, with four of those wins coming in his first five games in charge.

Tony Rea is current the interim coach of the Broncos, and he lifted them off the bottom of the table with a win over Castleford at the weekend.
