Greenwood leaves Oldham for Batley
Batley have signed Oldham full-back Miles Greenwood on a one-year deal.
Greenwood, 25, is a product of the St Helens academy system, and has previously played for Widnes (loan), Leigh and Halifax.
He spent the past year with the Roughyeds, but has decided to move on following their failure to achieve promotion from Championship 1.
He said: “I’ve really enjoyed my one season at Whitebank. The only reason I’m moving on is to get back into the Championship.
“The club knew from the day I signed that I didn’t want to be in Championship One for more than one season. I made that clear.
“I hoped that I would go back up with Oldham, but it wasn’t to be.
“Batley have given me that opportunity and I’m looking forward to a new challenge at the higher level.”
Greenwood scored 18 tries for Oldham to put him fourth in the Championship 1 leading try scorers list.
He started his rugby league journey at Oldham St Anne’s, and signed for his home-town club thanks to support from a fans’ fund.
