Championships trio avoid suspension

Three players have avoided suspension for fighting in Whitehaven’s friendly against Gateshead earlier this month.

Whitehaven’s Matty Palmer and Dave Houghton, plus Thunder’s Dave Sheldon, were all charged with committing Grade A punching offences in the second half incident at the Recre.

All three players submitted Early Guilty Pleas to avoid a possible ban, but this now waives their right to submit a further early plea for the next 12 months.
