Ex-Great Britain coach Brian Noble has suggested Lee Briers come out of international retirement ahead of the 2013 World Cup.

The Warrington Wolves stand-off retired from Welsh international duty after the 2011 Four Nations tournament.

However Noble believes the 34-year-old still has something to offer at international level, speaking to BBC’s Super League Show he said, “He’s got the body and he’s got the brain and he probably would do a great job for Wales at the World Cup.

“The only question mark he’ll have is whether he can go through another six hard weeks in a World Cup environment.”

Currently sidelined with a neck injury the playmaker has been a key figure in the Warrington Wolves side which has seen him play over 15 years in Super League.

The veteran also had no plans of retiring anytime soon and said “You treat every game like your last. My body is still good and my mind is still fresh. Once that packs in I’ll know, but hopefully it’s not for a long time yet.”
