Greg Inglis’ leadership qualities making positive impact at Warrington
Warrington forward Joe Philbin says it is easy to see why Greg Inglis has been at the top for so long.
Australia and Queensland icon Inglis has come out of retirement to join Warrington for the 2021 Super League season.
The 34-year-old is already making a positive impact on the Wolves, according to his team-mate Philbin.
Philbin said: “He’s been great. It has been a little bit surreal training with him. His leadership qualities have been really good.
“Our Tuesday and Friday training sessions are absolutely gruelling and at the end of a session the other day, GI said he wanted every outside back and he had them all doing extras on skill.
“You can see why he has been at the top for so long with his work ethic.”

Philbin has recently signed a new deal with his hometown club, committing his future to the Wolves until at least the end of 2024.
The Great Britain and Ireland international came through the ranks at Warrington and he has been impressed with the club’s current crop of youngsters during pre-season.
He added: “There are around seven or eight youngsters now who are training the house down, sprinting everywhere and are competing against you.
“They are doing everything right and thats the way it should be. They are putting people on their toes so I couldn’t ask for much more from them. They’ve gone hell for leather in pre-season and that’s what we want.
“At the minute we are in a block where we are trying to gain some aerobic fitness. The lads have come back really fit.
“We do a fitness test called the Bronco test which is gruelling and there were around eight PB’s in that and that was on day one of pre-season. Everyone has kept themselves really fit in the off-season which bodes well for us.”
