Josh Reynolds: Brad Fittler was my idol growing up
Hull’s star signing Josh Reynolds has revealed that Brad Fittler was his idol when he was young.
The 31-year-old former State of Origin half-back has joined Hull on a two-year deal ahead of the 2021 Super League season, with the option of a third.
Reynolds has revealed that Brad Fittler was his idol, with the latter earning 38 Australia caps and playing 31 times for New South Wales in Origin during a glittering career.
Reynolds said: “Freddy Fittler was my idol when I was young. I love the way he played.
“He was not only a great attacker but also a good defender.
“I got lucky enough to actually play under him a few times and he’s a really good bloke off the field, too.”

After making 160 appearances in the NRL for Canterbury Bulldogs and Wests Tigers, Reynolds will play in Super League for the first time in 2021.
Reynolds is excited to experience the Super League, Challenge Cup, Hull derby and the different stadiums.
He said: “When I’ve watched from back home, the fans are a lot closer (to the pitch). Back home we call them suburban grounds and a lot of them sort of look like that and as a player I love that.
“A few of the boys have told me about the derby, the fans are on top of you and you hear exactly what they are saying. I suppose thats what it is all about, you want those big games and big occasions.
“A lot of the boys have played in the Challenge Cup and won a few of them over the last couple of years and they’ve told me how good that is so if we can reach those heights then it will be a great experience and great to be a part of it.”
