Hull tipped for big year

Sky Sports pundit Barrie McDermott has tipped Hull to have a big year under new coach Brett Hodgson, reports Hull Live.

McDermott told Hull Live: “All the key components are there for the Black and Whites and I’m excited.”

Wigan captaincy

Wigan coach Adrian Lam has revealed who may be Wigan captain in 2021, reports Wigan Today.

Lam told Wigan Today: “It will probably be Tommy (Leuluai) or Faz (Liam Farrell), they captained us when Sean (O’Loughlin) didn’t play last year so I imagine it will come from one of those two players.”

Bateman on World Cup

John Bateman relishing World Cup with England to prove Aussies wrong again, reports the Mirror.

Bateman told the Mirror: “I want to put our country on the map and show the Australians and Pacific Islands countries that we are here and are serious about winning the World Cup at the end of the year.”

Hill’s testimonial match

Warrington are set to play Leigh in Chris Hill’s testimonial – a game that will be the Wolves’ only pre-season friendly, reports Warrington Guardian.

Warrington coach Steve Price told Warrington Guardian: “We’re still waiting on the fixtures so once we get them, we’ll have a clear update on when that will be.”

Knowles on thumb injury

St Helens forward Morgan Knowles is relishing contact after thumb operation, reports St Helens Star.

Knowles told St Helens Star: “I had my thumb fused in the off-season and got it out of the cast last week so it is getting there slowly now.”

Casty excited

France international Remi Casty is very happy and excited to be joining Toulouse, reports League Express.

Casty told League Express: “To now have the opportunity to be part of the first French team ever to challenge for promotion to Super League from the Championship is a real honour.”
