Taylor stood down by Gold Coast

Gold Coast forward Dave Taylor will miss Sunday’s clash with Parramatta through suspension.

Taylor has been left out of the Titans squad by coach John Cartwright after breaking team rules and will remain stood down from playing duties for a fortnight.

Cartwright refused to expand on which rule had been broken, but said Taylor had let clubmates down.

“He just broke some team protocols – it’s a pretty simply one really, you’ve got a code which you govern your team by and he broke a few of those rules so we’re left with no choice really,” said Cartwright.

“It’s extremely disappointing. He has let the club and his teammates down but as I say it wasn’t our decision, it was Dave’s decision.

“There’s certain things that will stay with the group and that’s one but it’s safe to say there’s certain behaviour expected of the players and he didn’t live up to them.

“The rules we’re broken, they’re there for a reason and it’s black and white. He broke some team rules and what’s important for the team is the most important thing.”

Beau Henry, Mark Minichiello, Luke O’Dwyer and Anthony Don return to the Titans line-up while hooker Beau Falloon will start in place of the injured Matt Srama.

Halfback Albert Kelly retains his place despite suffering a minor knee injury in last week’s defeat to Brisbane.
