Wardle to make Giants return at weekend
Huddersfield Giants centre Joe Wardle is set to return to action at the weekend and the youngster is desperate to make up for lost time.
Wardle, 21, has missed the Giants’ last two games after being given a ban for punching Leeds centre Carl Ablett in Huddersfield’s Challenge Cup win.
And the youngster admitted he was gutted to have to sit out wins against Widnes and Yorkshire rivals Bradford.
He said: “Sitting out the last couple of weeks has been tough.
“I’ve never been banned before, but I fully accepted my punishment. You’ve just got to get on with it.
“And I did get the consolation of getting the backing of Baloo (coach Paul Anderson) over what I did.
“He keeps telling us to stand up for ourselves, and that’s exactly what I did. I also know I can’t make a habit of doing that sort of thing, and I obviously hope there’s no repeat in the future.
“The last two weeks have given me the chance to freshen myself up and I feel in great shape and ready to make up for what’s just happened.”
Wardle is expected to return to Paul Anderson‘s squad for Monday’s televised game with St Helens.
