Wane disappointed Wigan left it late
Wigan coach Shaun Wane laid into his side’s lack of consistency as they left it late to grab victory against Wakefield.
Top-of-the-table Warriors were trailing to struggling Wakefield in the final stages before late tries ensured a 10th straight Super League win.
And despite recording the all-important win, Wane aired his disappointment after the match that his players waited so late to seal victory.
He said: “We got the tries in the second half, but the fact we waited that long was disappointing.
“We fell off the pace of the game after our start, and we weren’t consistent enough.
“In the second half we had a bit of a run and we scored tries, and that’s what we do. If we have possession then we can score tries.
“I told the players exactly what I thought of them at the break and I got the response I desired from them.”
Wigan extended their lead at the top of the Super League table to five points, with second placed Huddersfield playing St Helens on Monday night.
