Miller to be given time to settle in

New Hull FC signing Jacob Miller will be given time to settle in, according to director of rugby Shaun McRae.

Miller, 20, signed for Hull last month but has not been able to train with or play for the club because he is yet to be granted a visa.

The club are hopeful Miller’s visa will arrive in the next few days and that he will finally make the journey from Australia to Hull.

But with Super League taking a two-week break next week because of England‘s clash with the Exiles, McRae has confirmed that the Australian will be afforded the necessary time to settle and acclimatise to life in Hul.

He said: “The fact we take a break for the Exiles game means there is a great opportunity for Jacob to settle in, assuming his visa arrives and he gets here in the next week as hoped.

“We are still playing the waiting game and you never know how long these things will take.

“If he gets here soon it means he can have time to settle in, take a look around Hull, feel at home and have two weeks good training with his new team-mates.

“He’s eager and will want to play straight away, but that’s a tough ask when 

you’ve just arrived from Australia and don’t know your new team yet.

“The advantage if he arrives in the next few days is there is no pressure to throw him straight into a game.

“That’s important for Jacob to give him time to acclimatise and it allows him to settle in properly.”

4th take on 5th in Super League this weekend and Hull FC travel to SouthFrance to face Catalans Dragons.
