Broncos not underestimating Sheffield
London captain Tony Clubb says they are not underestimating Sheffield ahead of the club’s Challenge Cup quarter-final clash on Friday.
The high-flying Eagles have won 15 consecutive games, and currently sit top of the Championship, with many tipping them to have the potential to cause an upset at the Don Valley Stadium.
Clubb said: “We’ve watched a fair bit of video on them and they’re flying high in the Championship.
“We’re not underestimating them, we won’t be going there thinking we’ve already won, but we will be going there full of confidence to get the win and go on to the next stage of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup.”
The year after Sheffield’s shock win over Wigan in the 1998 Challenge Cup final, the Broncos made their one and only visit to Wembley where they were beaten by Leeds Rhinos in the last final to be played at the old stadium.
Clubb added: “I think this is the furthest I’ve been in the competition,” said Clubb. “To lead the team out at Wembley would be awesome, but we can’t look past Sheffield, that’s a massive game for us.”
London are currently bottom of the Super League table, having won just three league games all season.
