Premier Sports Performance of the Week – Whitehaven

Three tries in the final eight minutes gave Whitehaven a crucial win over top four contenders Batley Bulldogs.

Haven looked set to slip to defeat when they trailed 20-30 going into the closing stages.

But after Bulldogs centre Jason Walton was sin binned for persistent offending, Ant Walker forced his way over to close the gap to just four points.

The teams were level when a flowing Haven move finished with Craig Calvert crossing out wide – and Jamie Rooney converted off the touchline to make it 32-30.

And Haven sealed their impressive win when Jessie Joe Parker crossed in the final minute.

Premier Sports Try of the Week – Paul White (Keighley Cougars)

Paul White used every bit of his extensive experience to provide a superb finish for Keighley Cougars at Swinton.

When the Cougars went wide in the 66thminute of their 36-16 win, White was given the smallest of chances to finish a crisp handling move.

But the former Huddersfield, Salford, Wakefield and Halifax man produced a moment of brilliance to squeeze in at the corner.

Coach Paul March said: “It was a try that any winger would have been happy with – it was a superb finish.”
