Tomkins: Goulding for England
Sam Tomkins has heaped praise on teammate Darrell Goulding, a player he thinks should be a front runner for a place in England‘s World Cup squad.
Goulding, 25, has two tries and 10 assists so far this year, and Tomkins says he is very under-rated.
Tomkins said in the Manchester Evening News, “Darrell is playing some great rugby right now for Wigan and is a very under-rated player in my view.
“His pace is extremely deceptive and he has mastered the art of the flip pass to put his winger in the clear.
“It is the sign of a good centre if they can make and score tries.
“It’s only when you play alongside Darrell that you start to realise what he brings to the team, and that he rarely has a bad game.”
Goulding has currently got two England caps to his name and Tomkins added:
“If I was England coach Steve McNamara, he would definitely be in my World Cup plans.”
