Delaney sidelined again
Leeds forward Brett Delaney is suffering from a recurrence of the recent knee injury that saw him miss four Rhinos games.
Delaney, 27, was hurt during last Thurday’s victory over bottom-side London and coach Brian McDermott fears he could miss another few weeks.
The former Paramatta and Gold Coast second-row only returned on 19 July, after missing over a month of action due to a similar problem.
In comparison to the other knocks picked up against the Broncos, McDermott said:
“Delaney’s injury is a bit more sinister, he could be out for a couple of weeks with his knee – maybe three.”
Both coach and player will be hoping that he recovers soon, as with Jamie Jones-Buchanan (knee), Mitch Achurch (knee) and Stevie Ward (shoulder) all on the long-term casualty list, Carl Ablett and Chris Clarkson are currently Leeds’ only fit senior back-rowers.
