O’Brien returns to Wolves

Gareth O’Brien has returned to Warrington after his loan spell with St Helens ended.

O’Brien, 21, originally joined Saints on a month’s loan in May, before both clubs agreed to extend the deal to a ‘week to week’ basis.

He did not feature for St Helens against Wakefield on Sunday, and due to his ineligibility to play against his parent club in their next league fixture, the loan came to a natural end.

The half-back played seven games during his spell at Langtree Park, scoring fifty points.
