Leeds’ new signing King Vuniyayawa has revealed his Rhinos heroes – and the past player who advised him to join the club, reports Yorkshire Evening Post.
King told Yorkshire Evening Post: “This is a really strong club and I really think we are going to go pretty good this year.”
Woolf impressed with NRL recruits
St Helens coach Kristian Woolf has been impressed with NRL signings Sione Mata’utia, Joel Thompson and Agnatius Paasi in pre-season, reports St Helens Star.
Woolf told St Helens Star: “They will all offer us something on the field when we get to that as well. I have been really impressed.”
Catalans injury blow
Catalans outside back Arthur Romano is set to miss the 2021 after suffering an ACL injury while playing for the club’s reserves, reports League Express.
Dragons coach Steve McNamara told League Express: “Unfortunately it looks like the whole season is out for him.”
Coach O’Loughlin impressing
Sean O’Loughlin is proving to be an impressive coach for Wigan, reports Wigan Today.
Wigan head coach Adrian Lam told Wigan Today: “He’s been doing a bit of everything and I’ve been very impressed.”
Hodgson praises McNamara
Ben McNamara is growing in stature at Hull under Brett Hodgson’s guidance, reports Hull Live.
Hodgson told Hull Live: “Ben is really growing into his own stature within our squad and we’re looking to continue progressing that.”
O’Neill future
Castleford have opened contract talks with young star Jacques O’Neill, reports Leeds Live.
The Cumbrian is off-contract at the end of the season but the Tigers are in discussions with him over a new deal, according to Leeds Live.
