Maki can’t wait for Craven Park return

Papua New Guinea forward Enoch Maki says he cannot wait to return to Craven Park for Hull KR next season.

Maki, 23, has featured twice at his new home ground, in Papua New Guinea‘s defeats to France and Samoa.

He, along with international team-mates Francis Paniu and Neville Costigan, will join the Robins for the 2014 season, extending the club’s link with the nation that began with Stanley Gene following the 1995 World Cup.

Maki said: “We feel excited to have the support of the crowd in Hull. We came over from PNG where we were supported but the support over here is really amazing.

“I can’t wait to come and play at Craven Park for Hull Kingston Rovers next year, I am very much looking forward to playing for them.”

Papua New Guinea round off their World Cup campaign against New Zealand at Headingley on Friday.

Maki added: “I am looking forward to playing against New Zealand. We came here knowing that we were going to play against them so we will go back and prepare, so that we can come out and give a good game to New Zealand.”
