Spain granted observer status

Spain has been granted observer status by the Rugby League European Federation.

The AERL – the Spanish Association of Rugby League – were assessed last month after providing all the documentation required to receive recognition.

Spain join the likes of Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands and Sweden as observer members in Europe.

Their president, Salo Sansano, becomes the first female president of an International Rugby League federation.
