‘No rebels’ claims Hull KR chairman

Hull KR chairman Neil Hudgell says that the group of Super League clubs reportedly calling for the competition to have an independent CEO, are not rebels.

With Nigel Wood in the position of CEO with both the RFL and Super League, the opinion is that there is a conflict of interest between the two.

Hudgell earlier took to Twitter to claim that the clubs in question simply ‘have an alternative view’, and that they ‘need transparency on all dealings and a proper say’.

These sentiments echo the recent views of vocal Salford owner Marwan Koukash.

“The salary cap is only one issue,” said Koukash. “At the end of the day, it’s my money that goes into Salford, it’s Simon Moran’s money that goes into Warrington and I could go on.

“We all put serious money into the game and, the way I see it, we are entitled to at least have a say in the way Super League is run and how it develops its commercial activities.”
