Bradford have lost another key player on the eve of the 2014 season, with Jarrod Sammut joining Wakefield.

Sammut, 26, joins the Wildcats on a two-year contract, and he is available immediately for their away trip to Salford on Sunday.

After previously playing for Penrith in the NRL, and then former Super League outfit Crusaders, Sammut moved to Odsal in 2012 and scored 45 tries in 70 appearances.

Wakefield chairman Michael Carter had this to say:

“We recently got into dialogue with the Bulls regarding Jarrod, and we’re pleased to have reached a conclusion that is mutually beneficial for all parties.

“We look forward to welcoming Jarrod to the club and all associated with the Bulls to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium next week for our home opener.”

Sammut follows Garreth Carvell as the second player to leave Bradford this week.
