Bradford fill Gaskell void with Leeds youngster
Bottom of the table Bradford have secured the signing of Leeds’ Liam Sutcliffe on a one month loan.
Sutcliffe, 19, scored seven tries in 18 appearances last season for the Rhinos, and he also featured in their victory over Hull KR during round one of the current Super League campaign.
With Lee Gaskell suffering a knee ligament injury during the Bulls win over Wakefield last month, head coach Francis Cummins has strengthened his options in the halves.
“Liam is a hugely-talented player and we are delighted to have him on board,” said Cummins.
“He offers us another dimension, both at half-back or even at loose forward, and we expect him to improve our team.
“Our current predicament is being well documented and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Leeds Rhinos for offering us a helping hand.
“It is a great gesture and, in return, we hope to offer Liam further Super League experience and even more exposure.”
