Koukash fined for misconduct

Salford chairman Dr Marwan Koukash has been fined £1,000 for misconduct, following comments made on Twitter.

Koukash was also charged for using foul and/or abusive language at a public event on February 4 (the Red Devils 2014 media launch).

The wealthy Salford owner, who has funded signings such as Gareth Hock, Harrison Hansen and Rangi Chase during his time at the AJ Bell Stadium, was found to be in breach of RFL Operational Rule D1.8 (c) by engaging in conduct which is prejudicial to the interests of the game.

Koukash has also been issued with a warning as to his future behaviour.
