Andy Hay appointed Featherstone head coach
Featherstone have appointed Andy Hay as their new head coach on a two-year contract.
Hay, 40, has been assistant coach at Castleford, Hull and most recently Salford, and played for Sheffield, Castleford, Leeds, Widnes and Great Britain during his playing career.
His father John played for Featherstone in the 1960s and 70s.
Hay said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of being Head Coach of a club like Featherstone Rovers. It has a fantastic history and tradition which I’m well aware of.
“The club has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years, the stadium redevelopments are progressing well and this Centre of Excellence is one of the best I’ve seen.
“A competitive squad has been established and all the ingredients are there for the club to kick on. The new competition structures that are coming in place from next year present a great opportunity for Featherstone Rovers and I cannot wait to get started and lead us through an exciting chapter for the club.”
Featherstone parted company with John Bastian after just 11 games earlier this month.
