Pettybourne back in NRL with Gold Coast

Gold Coast Titans have signed ex-Wigan Warriors forward Eddy Pettybourne.

Wigan released the 26-year-old in December for personal reasons halfway through a two-year contract after signing from Wests Tigers.

Pettybourne, who made 18 appearaces for Wigan, has now returned to the NRL, where he debuted in 2007 for South Sydney Rabbitohs, with the Titans.

Gold Coast head coach Neil Henry said the USA international would be a good replacement for the sacked Paul Carter.

“He’s a hard-running back or front rower who’s had a lot of experience at the top level and I know Wigan were very happy with his form last season,” said Henry.

“He was prominent in their run to the grand final and had proved himself at NRL level.

“He has returned to Australia because of family reasons and we were quick to act after learning that. 

“He’ll be a valuable addition and we are very lucky to have a player of his stature to replace Paul.”
