The Morning After: Reynolds shows his class, Tomkins magic & England’s wealth of full-backs
The Morning After looks at three talking points from the latest Super League action.
Reynolds shows his class
Hull fans will no doubt be pleased with what they have seen from off-season recruit Josh Reynolds in the first two rounds of the season. He was been nothing short of exceptional.
Reynolds is a classy player who is worth the ticket money alone. The 31-year-old scored two tries to help Hull ease past Salford 35-4 yesterday.
The Australian is great to watch when he’s got the ball in his hands and he is building up a fine partnership with Marc Sneyd in the halves. It is still early days for the half-back combination, but it is already exciting to see.
Tomkins magic
A man of the match display from Sam Tomkins inspired Catalans to a 20-10 victory over Huddersfield on Saturday.

Tomkins is one of Super League’s best players, there’s no doubt at that. When he plays well, Catalans play well.
The 32-year-old is such an influential leader for the Dragons and is as good off the ball as he is on it. He was pure class yesterday. Tomkins has been electric in the first two rounds of Super League.
England’s wealth of full-backs
England coach Shaun Wane will announce his latest England squad on Tuesday, and he has a plethora of top class full-backs to choose from.
Sam Tomkins, Niall Evalds, Zak Hardaker, Jake Connor and Stefan Ratchford have all been in top form in the first couple of weeks of the season.

It is a selection headache that Wane will no doubt welcome. England have so many talented full-backs right now and the competition for places will only be a good thing as the race for the No. 1 spot heats up.
