Chester celebrating ‘proudest moment’ after beating Wigan

Hull Kingston Rovers coach Chris Chester feels that the Friday evening’s Challenge Cup victory over Wigan was a real highlight of his career so far.

Rovers produced a superb defensive display to win 16-12, and secure a home quarter-final tie against Catalans Dragons.

“It’s probably my proudest moment as a coach,” Chester told his club’s official website.

“Even in the final couple of minutes, there were times where they could score and our boys worked hard to get themselves in the picture and come up with a big play.

“It was a great win and what a difference a couple of weeks makes. This should now give us a lot of confidence and shows we need to trust in the defensive structures that we have put in place.

“It will give the team and the club a massive lift but there are some tough Super League games that we need to tick off before we can think about the Challenge Cup again.”
