Three Championship players charged
Three Championship players have been charged following incidents that occurred at the Summer Bash during the Leigh Centurions v Featherstone Rovers game on Sunday May 24 at Bloomfield Road.
Featherstone Rovers player Paul Wood has been charged with two offences during the game. Wood is charged with Grade E gouging in the 26th minute on Leigh player Bob Beswick and Grade B head butting also in the 26th minute and on the same player.
Reni Maitua of Featherstone Rovers has been charged with a Grade B careless high tackle on Leigh player Jacob Emmitt in the 33rd minute.
Leigh Centurions player Gareth Hock has been charged with Grade A striking on Featherstone player Jordan Baldwinson in the 23rd minute of the game.
Reni Maitua has until 11am on Tuesday June 2 to submit an Early Guilty Plea (EGP).
Wood and Hock do not have the option of submitting an EGP and will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday (June 2).
All three players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel.
