Murray wary of Hornets’ sting

North Wales Crusaders coach Anthony Murray is hoping that his team can take their recent good form into this week’s clash with Rochdale Hornets.

The Hornets travel to The Rock in Wrexham on Sunday, to face a Crusaders team who have won six consecutive games.

A seventh win on the trot would set a new club record, but Murray knows that achieving victory will not be easy.

“It’ll be a tough game. They’re a very well-drilled side,” he said.

“They’re not at the better end of the table for nothing so they’ll come to The Rock full of confidence thinking that they can get some points.

“But we’ll prepare well and, hopefully, we’ll perform. We’re on a good run of form at the minute and we’ve got some momentum behind us.

“When you look at top, there’s a couple of points between who’s in first and who’s in eighth. Everyone is pinching points off each other.

“We had a great result last time out at Oldham; I’m hoping that we can carry that over now.

“We’ve set those goals after the iPro Sport Cup final for where we want to be and what we want to achieve come the Oxford game next weekend.

“But I take each game as it comes – I don’t worry about how other teams are doing – and we need to make sure we put in a good performance against Rochdale.”
