Smith confirms Wire’s interest in Sandow

Warrington coach Tony Smith has confirmed that his club are interested in signing Chris Sandow, as was reported last week.

But Sandow is just one player, on what would seem to be a lenghty list of potential recruits for the Wolves coach.

“He’s one of the many,” Smith told BBC Radio Merseyside.

“We’ve spoken to a number of people on this and that side of the world. He’s on the list.”

Some Australian media reports have implied that Sandow will arrive at Warrington before the end of the current campaign, rather than just be a replacement for the departing Richie Myler in 2016.

“We need to land somebody,” Smith added.

“Whether that is then for this year as well, that’s a whole different ball game.

“We’ve just got to work things through and make sure we’re getting the right person.”
