Hull KR sign Dane Chisholm on loan from Canterbury

Hull Kingston Rovers have announced the signing of French international half-back Dane Chisholm, on loan from NRLl side Canterbury Bulldogs until the end of the season.

The player will add depth to the Rovers squad in the halves, with Terry Campese out for the rest of the season and Aleerby Kelly currently struggling with injury.

Chisholm has also spent time at NRL clubs Manly, Wests Tigers and Melbourne during his career.

The 25-year-old has won four caps for France, for whom he qualifies via his mother, scoring three tries for the Chanticleers.

“We are delighted to be able to bring in Dane at this stage of the season and we’re looking forward to having him on board,” Rovers coach Chris Chester told his club’s official website.

“He’s been really impressive for Canterbury’s reserve grade side this year and he’s an exciting player to watch.

“As well has having plenty of experience at playing in the halves, he’s got blistering pace and he’s a great finisher too, so he gives us plenty of options.

“Canterbury have re-signed Dane for next season, a sign of their high regard for the player, but a move to us for the rest of this year is a deal that suits all parties.

“It will allow Dane to show what he can do in the first team and I know he’s really excited about playing in Super League and for Hull Kingston Rovers.”
