Sunday Social: Catalans in dreamland, Hurrell shows his footwork & Warrington turn on the style

It’s time for Love Rugby League’s Sunday Social, your alternative recap of the serious and not so serious talking points from the past seven days. 

What a result for Catalans in Perpignan on Saturday evening! The Dragons ran out emphatic 48-0 winners over Wigan, with former Warriors full-back Sam Tomkins playing a starring role in helping end his former club’s unbeaten start to the season.

Another contender for performance of the week, Leeds ran in 11 tries to round off a blistering display against Castleford. Their 60-6 win at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle was capped off by this moment of magic from centre Konrad Hurrell.

Over in the NRL, Penrith Panthers showed exactly why they are the team to beat after moving four points clear at the top of the table. How about this for a try, finished off by full-back Stephen Crichton.

Warrington centre Toby King celebrated signing a new long-term deal with the club by running in two tries against Salford on Thursday night. But it was the pace of prop forward Chris Hill to keep up with Red Devils winger Ken Sio that really caught the eye.

Friday was a night to remember for St Helens youngster Jack Welsby. The 20-year-old secured his first ever hat-trick for Saints during their 34-16 victory over Hull FC.

And finally, how often do you see a player assist his own try?! Joseph Manu did exactly that for Sydney Roosters in the second half of their comfortable win over Canberra Raiders.
