Widnes have confirmed that Calum O’Neill has left the club while Lewis Hulme has returned.

A former Ireland Under-19s representative, O’Neill came through Widnes’ academy and made four first team appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, hooker Hulme has returned to the club for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The 26-year-old is former Widnes academy player who played for the club’s reserves in 2020. He made his first team debut for the Vikings in the final game of last season before the Championship was cut short due to the pandemic.

Hulme said: “It feels good to be back. Obviously last year the season was cut short so I’m happy to have come back halfway through this year.”

Hulme is in contention to play in Sunday’s game against Halifax.
