Shaun Robinson comes out of retirement to join Rochdale
Winger Shaun Robinson has come out of retirement to join Rochdale for the remainder of the 2021 season.
Robinson started his career at Oldham before going on to represent Oxford, Rochdale, Swinton, Featherstone and Halifax.
He returns to the Crown Oil Arena for his second stint, having featured in 2014.
Robinson retired from the sport earlier this year due to work commitments.
On the signing, head coach Matt Calland said: “Shaun has been on my radar since leaving Halifax. I’m really pleased to finally get him.
“He is a class finisher and also carries well from the back field. He is a local lad too, which is important. I’m sure it won’t be long before he’s a fans’ favourite.”
Robinson added: “I’m looking forward to dusting my boots off for the back end of the season and getting the team into the play-offs. I wasn’t looking at coming back into the professional game, but Matt has been asking me over the past few weeks as injuries have hit the squad and I thought I could come in and hopefully help with getting the team to promotion.
“I’m looking forward to playing for my local town and linking up with a few good mates.”
