Sandow thinks Wire would have put up better showing in World Club Series

Chris Sandow believes that Warrington Wolves are better than the Super League teams involved in the World Club Series and wants a crack at the series next season.

The Australian half back joined the Wolves from Parramatta Eels during the middle of last season, and is now settled in a Warrington side that have started the season in fine form. 

The 27 year-old said that although the English teams were unlucky in defeat, he knew that the Australian sides would dominate the series.

“I knew personally it would be 3-0 because the Roosters, Broncos and Cowboys are top-notch teams in the NRL but I think some of the teams were underdone as well,” Sandow told the Warrington Guardian. 

“It wasn’t the Leeds team that won it last year, a few older statesmen didn’t play and it would probably have been a different story if they had.”

Sandow is also of the opinion that the Wolves would have put in a better showing, and believes Warrington are better than the teams that took part in the series last weekend.

“Hopefully we go well this season and can play an NRL team next year,” he said.

“I think some of the boys were biting their tongue watching the games at the weekend because we know we are better than what we’ve seen and what Australia saw about the UK teams.”
