Crusaders anticipate tough test from London

North Wales Crusaders coach Anthony Murray is expecting a tough game when his team welcome London Skolars to Wrexham this weekend.

It looks as though Murray’s team will be boosted by the return to the squad of Scott Turner.

Crusaders were beaten 30-14 at Doncaster last week, a result that Murray felt was fair.

“We were still in the game after 60 minutes but made 20 individual errors, including penalties, and you just can’t do that against a side like Doncaster, they’re going to eventually punish you and to be fair they ran out worthy winners,” he said.

“It’s going to be another real tough game on Sunday and we’re going to have to be at our best to win. London have started the season well; they’ve won two out of their three league fixtures and are in the semi-finals of the iPro Sport Cup.

“They’ll be coming into the game full of confidence, we’ve just got to improve in a couple of areas. I’ve no doubt that if we can be at our best, we’re more than capable of beating London but it’s going to be a tough game.”

Skolars, meanwhile, had a week off, after beating Doncaster in the iPro Cup the week before.

“That was probably the best result we’ve had since I’ve been in charge,” said coach Jermaine Coleman.

“I think it will be a tough game at North Wales, they’re having their issues currently but I’m sure Anthony will have his team very well-drilled. They’ll come out all guns blazing and hoping to get the victory on their home patch.

“For us it’s just a case of progressing and taking another step forward and making sure that we bounce off that Doncaster result and take that confidence forward for the rest of the season.”

Jy-Mel Coleman could return for the Skolars.
