George Rose linked with Super League

Former Manly prop George Rose has been linked with a shock return to rugby league with a move to Super League.

Rose last played in the NRL in 2015 with St George Illawarra, where made nine appearances. Since then the burly Australian front-rower has contemplated a switch to rugby union and considered taking up boxing.

According to media reports, Rose could be now coming out of semi-retirement and headed to Super League.

The forward played for the Roosters, Sea Eagles, Storm and Dragons in a 12-year NRL career. He scored 10 tries in 151 games.

Rose won a grand final with Manly in 2011 and has played for the Indigenous All Stars six times.

The 33-year also played for the Primer Minister’s XIII.
